ABOUT ABOUT

Since 1992 Portland High School has presented fourteen very successful musicals including, , Mary Poppins in 2016, Pirates of Penzance in 2017, Hello Dolly! in 2018, and Bye Bye Birdie! in 2022.  As the P.H.S Musical continues in its third decade, we are proud and very excited to announce the return of our annual musical with Disney’s The Little Mermaid in our state-of-the-art auditorium.  With each production we have had an increase in the number of students expressing an interest in not only acting, but also orchestra, chorus and dance, set design and construction, the production technology of lighting and sound, as well as make-up and costuming.

As you may know, Broadway shows have “angels” who help provide the financing that makes production possible.  We are now asking members of the school community to consider being angels for the high school’s productions.  There are numerous townspeople who have attended all fourteen P.H.S. productions and it is apparent that these productions have generated interest in the performing arts throughout the community.  We would like to acknowledge and encourage continued community involvement by inviting you to become part of Portland High School’s Patrons of Performing Arts (PoPA).   This fund, created in 1999, is an opportunity for individuals within the community to contribute to the support, enhancement, and advancement of performing arts at the high school.  It is our hope that you will consider becoming a patron at whichever level of contribution you are most comfortable.
